is a Cuban-American visual storyteller who graduated from UNC School of the Arts, where she earned a BFA in production design for film. She found her love of wanting to tell stories visually while watching the magical realism work of Michel Gaundry while growing up just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Kat has had the pleasure of production designing & set decorating many short and feature films, commercials, and music videos all over the United States (and even as far out as Berlin, Germany!).
She's designed commercials for brands such as Vogue, 1800 Tequila, Target, Carls Jr., Adobe Suite, TJ Maxx, and more. She's designed music videos for artists such as Noah Cyrus, Don Toliver, Lil Tecca, Bella Poarch, Sophie Powers, Spacey Jane, and more.

She is currently living in Los Angeles where she is working in the art department for film & TV. She loves to linger in her stylistic kitsch aesthetic, affectionately dubbed by some as “grandma-chic”, providing an infusion of warmth and nostalgia into her design. She is most attracted to stories that play on the idea that anything can happen.

Kat is also a member of the Art Directors Guild Local 800's Production Design Initiative. Read about her in Perspective Magazine.

She is well-versed in the Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp/Layout, plenty of experience with stage shows as well as on-location shooting, budgeting, breakdowns, and being able to put a duvet cover on by herself. Experienced with prop house etiquette in the US as well as internationally.

Known to have great communication skills and will work quickly and efficiently to get the job done. A fantastic multitasker and loves working in teams as well as independently,
She also has a lot of hands-on experience with construction, miniatures, sewing, prop fabrication and stop-motion fabrication. A human swiss army knife.
Q&A w/ myself:
Favorite food? easy, sushi.
Favorite coffee shop drink? easier, chai latte.
Favorite movie? hard. Between Harold & Maude and Chungking Express. (guilty pleasure is a tie between
Dude, Wheres my Car? and 17 Again)
What kind of music do you listen to? I have a deep love for all types of folk music. American folk, indie folk, folk-rap, French folk, Ethiopian folk...you name it. Bob Dylan is currently my phone's lock screen. Catch me blasting Cat Stevens while cruising down the highway.
